About the Author

Kim Halberg makes her home in Minnesota unless she is traveling to warm climates in the winter. She lives with her husband, last of her three sons in the nest, and a cantankerous orange-tabby-cat. Her cat, Freddy, usually gets the job of writing the annual Christmas letter. When Kim is not writing she enjoys long walks in the woods, cooking ethnic recipes, and going sailing on Lake Superior with her husband. Her adventurous spirit and desire to serve the Lord through missions has led her almost around the world. After traveling to India in 2003, Kim spent three years working on a biography entitled Meet Me at the Oasis: Leaving a Legacy to Echo in Eternity for a non-profit organization, which partners with the Indian people.

In addtion to Meet Me at the Oasis, Kim Halberg also writes for conference and mission outreach brochures, children’s stories, and blogs for web sites including the Foursquare Women’s page. She is also a public speaker including a young writer’s workshop, From Light-bulb to Ink Press! using her “Doodle Notes” method to keep students engaged in the writing process. Her other favorite topic to speak on is missions. She is a shameless advocate for missionaries around the world. Another passion of Kim Halberg’s is taking people on their first missions trip, helping them to navigate through a new cross-cultural experience.
